Healthy hearts

Protect your most vital asset

Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death in Aotearoa, responsible for one in three deaths, many of which are premature and preventable. Our modern lifestyles and workplaces play a significant role in this crisis. Sedentary routines, processed foods, and constant digital connectivity create environments where downtime is rare and the body is rarely at rest. Chronic stress and long work hours keep the nervous system in a heightened state, placing continuous strain on the heart and vascular

system.

Despite these risks, cardiovascular health often remains under-addressed in the workplace. Education, early detection, and proactive support are essential, not optional. Organisations have a vital role to play in reversing this trend by fostering a culture that integrates heart health into daily work life, protecting this most vital asset and promoting long-term employee wellbeing and productivity.
