Health & Cardiac Assessment

Health & Cardiac Assessment  is a comprehensive, personalised evaluation designed to give you a clear picture of your cardiovascular and overall health. Whether you're preventing illness, managing a condition, recovering from a cardiac event, or simply wanting to understand your body better. This assessment is tailored to your needs, background, and goals.


People commonly book this assessment for one or more of the following reasons:


  • Cardiac health:  To assess heart function, monitor recovery, or investigate symptoms such as palpitations, shortness of breath, or high blood pressure.
  • Stress and resilience:  To explore how your body responds to physical and emotional stress (especially if you're experiencing fatigue, burnout, or want to stay ahead of it).
  • Health conditions:  To check your current health status, manage long-term conditions, prepare for surgery, or follow up on previous medical tests.


We can also conduct specific 
cardiac testing. Including Exercise Tolerance Tests (ETT). As can be referred or recommended by your doctor or cardiologist. These are often required for insurance medicals or further specialist evaluation.


What the Assessment May Include:


Conducted by a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist, your tailored assessment may involve:


  • A kōrero about your health, lifestyle, symptoms, and aspirations
  • Review of any previous test results (e.g. blood work, ECG, imaging, specialist reports)
  • Resting and ECG-monitored exercise testing (including blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation)
  • Lung function, cholesterol, and glucose profiling
  • Optional extras: movement analysis, skinfold testing, and/or cardio pulmonary exercise testing (CPET)*


A full report with personalised recommendations for prevention, rehabilitation, or performance will be provided after your appointment. Summary reports can be shared with your GP or specialist on request.


*Additional tests may require extra time and cost.


Our approach blends scientific best practice with mātauranga Māori. Acknowledging that true hauora includes not just physical wellbeing, but also mental, emotional, and whānau health. This assessment is your first step toward clarity, confidence, and connection wherever you are on your health journey.


Before Your Appointment


Once your booking is confirmed:


  • You’ll receive a brief pre-assessment questionnaire to complete online. This helps us understand your needs, medical history, and goals so we can tailor your assessment appropriately.
  • Please come prepared to exercise. Most assessments include a treadmill exercise test, and depending on your health status, this may involve working to a high intensity. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. We do have changing rooms with showers available for your use after your appointment.

Wellbeing Conversation

Not ready for a full assessment? Our Wellbeing Conversation is a one on one conversation designed to help you make sense of where you’re at and what next steps could support you best.


Whether you’re navigating a recent diagnosis, dealing with ongoing symptoms, or simply feeling unsure where to begin, this kōrero offers a safe, informed space to explore your health status, concerns, and aspirations.


This session may include:

  • A guided conversation about your current health, lifestyle, and goals
  • Review of available medical notes or history (if relevant)
  • Help navigating both medical advice and evidence backed holistic approaches
  • Recommendations for next steps such as assessments, measures, testing, or programme options


You’ll leave with a clearer sense of direction and, if needed, a tailored plan to help you move forward.


Additional testing or services may be suggested depending on your goals and needs.


Wellbeing Conversation can be conducted remotely or in person.


Initial consultation:  45 minutes – $180

Follow-up:  30 minutes – $120


Health Coach Support

Our 
Health Coaching Support is a flexible add on that provides weekly 20 minute check ins to keep you focused, supported, and progressing. It's about making small, meaningful adjustments over time, helping you stay consistent and confident in your direction.

  • Weekly 20-minute coaching/check in session (in person or online)
  • Resources tailored to your goals or areas of focus
  • Guidance, motivation, and support from our clinical team
  • Small plan tweaks and advice to help you adjust as life happens
  • Structured accountability to help you follow through and reach your goals
