Hot Turmeric Warmer
It is cold. Summer IS coming, but until then we are trying all we can to dodge the winter chills and ills that are rife at the moment!
This hot drink is sure to warm you from the inside out, while helping to boost and support your immune system.
Use either fresh or powdered spices or a combination of each. And don’t just stick to this recipe. We have been adding cinnamon and ginger to our hot turmeric toddies here at the centre and upping the dose of some of the spices depending on how much of a “kick” we are after.
Ingredients:
1 tsp honey
1/2 tsp turmeric (fresh or ground)
Pinch of ground black pepper
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 cup of hot water
Directions:
Combine honey and turmeric into a paste in a cup.
Add the pepper and lemon juice.
Pour over hot water, stir and enjoy.
You can also make up a large batch of turmeric and honey paste and store in the fridge or a cool, dark place for up to 4 weeks. Simply take out what you need, add the extra’s and enjoy.
