HEALTH

Do you want to know more about managing your health and wellbeing? Health and wellbeing checks are for anyone who is looking for a comprehensive assessment of their health and wellbeing, and an action plan for ongoing management. If you have a health condition or are simply wanting to make sure you are on the right track with your lifestyle, then one of our health and wellbeing checks is for you.

We think about health as the things that keep our body fit and able.

Health is about science and evidence-based approaches to illness prevention, illness management, and rehabilitation. We specialize in lifestyle management of chronic conditions – especially heart disease, diabetes, and overweight concerns. If you experience depression or anxiety, have a chronic pain issue like arthritis or you just want to make sure you are looking after your body as best you can, then we can help. Exercise and nutrition are key components of good health and we can help you figure out the best pathway for you. Medicines are often part of the picture with illness, we can help you manage your medications too.

Health is not just about how well your body works. We like to think you are a whole person, not just your bodily parts.

Health Condition Check

Health Condition Check

Our health conditions check is a comprehensive review of your health, with a focus on identifying risk factors related to your specific health concerns or condition(s) and offering personalised recommendations and support to help improve your health.

We have expertise and experience providing assessments and support for the following health conditions:

  • heart conditions and heart attack
  • diabetes or pre-diabetes
  • stroke
  • arthritis or other chronic pain conditions
  • anxiety or depression
  • parkinson’s disease
  • frailty associated with ageing
  • renal disease

  • metabolic syndrome / overweight issues

The assessment takes approximately 45 minutes and includes a conversation about your medical and health history. Prior to your session, we may ask you to complete a client information and health history form. During the assessment, we will perform specific clinical assessments related to your condition(s) and overall health. These could include an exercise test (with or without ECG), lung capacity, cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure (at rest and during stress), body measurements, and assessments of things like quality of life, mood and readiness to change scales.

Based on the results of our conversation and your assessment results, we will offer specific and personalised recommendations and create an action plan. You will be provided with a report summarising both the assessment results and the action plan.

The cost of the health assessment is $170 and you can book here. If you have medical insurance, some insurance policies may partially or fully cover the cost of this assessment and we encourage you to speak with your insurance provider.

You do not need a referral from your doctor to come and see us, though we do encourage you to share your results with your doctor.

Women's Health Check

Women’s Health Check

Women are not small men! Strange thing to say, but most of the research we use to give health recommendations come from studies that used men as participants.

Sex differences exist from birth, and as science progresses it is clear that generalised exercise and nutrition guidelines don’t work well for women. Sex differences in physiology and hormonal shifts throughout the lifespan affect a women’s response to exercise and nutrition. Have you always tried hard to look after yourself but never felt like you have really achieved full wellness? Are you a female athlete who struggles with the hormone, exercise and nutrition mix? We can help!

Our women’s health check is for women who are interested in improving body composition, energy, sleep, and overall wellbeing by utilising the science of nutrition and exercise.

If you are:

  • Tired of your exercise and nutrition plan not producing the results you want
  • Seeking help navigating peri-menopause and the changes your body undergoes
  • Seeking science-based practice to get you through pregnancy and post-partum as an active, fit mum
  • An athlete suffering from gut distress, poor performance, and weight gain
  • Suffering from gut dysfunction (bloating, cravings, poor energy and sleep)

then the Woman’s Health assessment is a good place to start!

The assessment takes 45 minutes and is a conversation about you and what your goals are. We have a number of tools that we use within this conversation, which may include dietary tracking and habits, hormone profiles and blood results, sleep quality, and readiness for change scale.

We will talk with you about an action plan, based on the results of our conversation.

The cost of the general assessment is $150 and you can book here.

  • have tried a number of diets yet struggle to maintain a healthy weight and relationship with food (you’re in good company, research shows the majority of dieters are not able keep the weight off and often end up actually gaining weight in the medium and long term)
  • are concerned about what is the right pattern of eating for you
  • know a bit about good nutrition but haven’t quite been able to make it stick
  • are healthy and simply want to eat well
  • would like specific advice about eating for a health condition such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, rheumatoid arthritis

then the come along for a chat!

The assessment takes 30 minutes and will include an assessment of your current eating pattern and content. You will be asked to complete a food diary prior to coming to your appointment and we will use that information as the basis for a conversation.

We will make an action plan for your nutrition which could be a structured menu plan or simply options to choose from for different meals. We will listen to your personal tastes and identify lots of options that will both be yummy and serve your health.

The cost of a nutrition consultation is $120 (which includes the 30 minute consultation and additional time spent building your meal plan and recipes) and you can book here.
